FUCK YEAH CHUBBY FASHION!

Month

June 2012

I recently retired a pair of drawstring cargo jeans from Woman Within. They lasted for roughly 4 years, maybe 5, and I wore them as often as 3 times a week some weeks. The biggest weak point was the holes for the drawstring because they were not reinforced, but they didn't fall victim to the fast wear out of inner thigh rub the way most things I've worn seem to. I have a second pair of the same pants on year 2, and by golly they're still sort of stiff / not broken in, even with frequent wear.

My sister and I are both bigger ladies and they always have jeans that fit us, in really lovely dark washes. I’m not sure what size they go up to but you can occasionally get them on clearance for around $20, and they have a two pairs for $40 deal. :)

They’re a little pricier than like forever 21 or old navy but I think they last longer (plus they’re often on sale and places like ross or tj maxx carries them sometimes too)

Getting some Fray Check from a fabric store and applying it to the areas of your jeans that wear out quickly helps a lot. Since I've started doing it, it extends the life of my jeans anywhere about 3-4 months. The fray check will make the material a little stiff but that goes away quickly with washing and wearing. Also having several pairs of jeans in rotation helps.

This. Is genius.

I am doing this to my leggings right now!

for the person looking for this jeans. Definitely dont do the Forever 21+ $13 jeans. They are the only jeans I wear because I love the way they look but I seriously have to buy a new pair every 3-4 months because I rub out the inside of them so quickly. But I am the kind of person that wears a pair of jeans for a few weeks straight so I am pretty hard on them. Same goes with Old Navy. They are garbage in a few months. Sorry I couldnt be more helpful :/

Another viewpoint. It’s always hard to determine if it’s better to buy a bunch of pairs of cheap jeans and have to replace them all the time, or buy a few, maybe more expensive pairs that will last. Decisions, decisions…

For the chub rub i wear some gloria vanderbelt and they've lasted me for years. I'm heavy myself and I have lost several pairs due to chub rub. another brand which i find at a discount store is called y and j and they've lasted me half the year so far. i hope this helps.

I love Forever 21 jeans because they are cheap, therefore, if you're losing them to thigh rub, it's not worth as much. They're like $15-30 a pair and go up to size 20.

My Old Navy jeans always last at least a year (and this is, like, nearly daily wear), and before them I used to lose jeans all of the time to chub rub.

I've recently lost 3 pairs of jeans to chub-rub, and these were supposed to last me all summer. They were nice, too- one of each- a.n.a., st. john's bay, and lane bryant jeans. I want to give up and just buy cruddy jeans. Are there any jeans that are thick enough to last more than a year, or should I just start investing in a pair of spanx and wear skirts?

Anyone have any places they shop where jeans can stand the test of time? I am not an experienced jeans wearer. :)
